Remember Me

Explore how families across the Caribbean remember those who came before us.

From Haiti’s Fèt Gede to Jamaica’s Nine Night, these activities explore many spiritual, cultural, and traditional practices. In the Caribbean, many realities coexist between Western Christianity and ancestral religions.

Keep scrolling to find more — we have an e-book, accompanying activities, and other fun things to do with the family, especially during the month of November.

Nou Sonje Yo Tout - E-book

When a young boy learns his grandmother has “crossed the river,” he begins to wonder what that really means. Through his family’s stories and beliefs, he discovers that in Haiti, remembrance takes many forms — but love never leaves. His godmother helps him make sense of how each family member's spiritual practices guide how they decide to remember Grann.

A gentle story about faith, family, and keeping our ancestors close.

Please note, this book is intentionally, only in Haitian Creole, and we don't currently have plans to translate it. We do have the follow-up activity in English, and you can use the embedded audio book if needed.
